Spice up the band room by creating a musically themed mural. This could be the legacy you leave at Glenwood Springs high school!
Start with a file that is 48in x 13in x 150ppi or download this template
The software you use is up to you but I would recommend simple flat vector graphics like the kind you would create in Fireworks or Illustrator because this mural will be painted by students who will not necessarily be experienced artists i.e. don't include shading, blending, or gradients (think principles of design or color scheme project). The outlines of the images, silhouettes, shapes etc. can be sophisticated and detailed because they will be traced onto the wall with the use of a projector, but they should be filled with flat fields of color, or patterns that aren't too complex to replicate.
Be aware of where the windows are i.e. try to avoid putting something important right where a window is...or maybe you can use those squares/rectangles as a creative design element? I will try to upload a file to use as a template with precise locations of the windows soon.
The use of some online imagery/vectors would be okay here as long as you're putting them together in a creative way to make something new! However, originality is more highly valued/encouraged (as usual), so tracing/converting photos is preferable, and of course drawing your own stuff is ideal! Don't be "confined" by the rectangle i.e. allow your imagery and design to get cropped by the edge of your page.
