Saul Bass
Next we will redesign the posters in the style of the classic minimalist designer Saul Bass. See some of his iconic movie posters here. As you look at them, be aware that his style has been emulated by fans to recreate more contemporary movie posters, so some of these may be mixed in with the originals. Notice how he is able to distill an entire film down to its essence by using just a few shapes to symbolize the most important moments of the story. This is exactly what we're going to attempt!
The first 5 movie posters below are authentic designs by Saul Bass, the rest are emulations of his style by other artists.

The two designs by Saul Bass below were rejected and never used for the actual movie posters. If you plan to be successful at art/design, or anything for that matter, get used to rejection, learn to bounce back and persevere. JK Rowling was rejected by 12 publishing companies before someone decided to take a risk Harry Potter. Just because one person doesn't recognize the potential in your idea, doesn't mean it isn't there.
