Art one is a year long course exploring artistic expression in a variety of 2D and 3D media: drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, clay, stained glass and others. There is a $30 materials fee for this class, please set a reminder for this on your phone. Click here for a syllabus.
Objectives: At the end of this course students will be able to....
1. Recognize and use the visual arts as a form of communication.
2. Know and apply elements of art, principles of design, and sensory and expressive features of visual arts.
3. Know and apply visual arts materials, tools, techniques, and processes.
4. Relate the visual arts to various historical and cultural traditions.
5. Analyze and evaluate the characteristics, merits, and meaning of works of art.
Projects (subject to change):
1. Completion drawing
2. Positive/negative space composition
3. Block printing
4. Linear perspective drawing
5. Color scheme painting
6. Emulation painting
7. Low relief clay sculpture
8. Fused glass design
